What a fantastic Record Store Day 2012 it was! We at the Classic Waxxx camp thought it would be a light haul this year, but then the crate digging started and we couldn’t help ourselves. Though, of all the releases that were sought after and obtained, we were most excited to get home and play David Bowie’s 40th Anniversary release of “Starman” on picture disc 45. Rumor has it most record stores in the US only got one or two copies per store, making this particular release extremely rare. Of course, this was the first RSD release we played out of our giant stack of vinyl. For those who didn’t get one, we’ll post an MP3 rip of the recently discovered BBC ‘Top of the Pops’ performance that appears on the single’s B-Side, a recording that was just recently discovered and thought to have been lost forever. Thanks Bowie for hooking us fans up with this beautiful single!
Hope RSD 2012 was as fruitful for you as it was for us! What treasure(s) did you walk away with???
