So…we are HUGE Jack White fans, as well as all things Third Man Records! Our copies of White’s “Blunderbuss” Inverted Lightning Bolt LPs arrived today, and we just had to share how awesome these look. We actually prefer this version over the regular lightning bolt release, which is predominantly black vinyl with streaks of blue. Hopefully, the inverted version will be just as valuable!
Jack White and Third Man Records aren’t the only ones making awesome-looking vinyl these days. Behold…The Black Keys “BBC Sessions” black and white ‘bootleg’ LP. Been seeing these on eBay lately, going for about $30. Happened to be lucky enough to find this at a local record store and had to have it. Sounds great in its monophonic mix.
No markings as to what label produced the record, but still sweet to play and stare at. Might find a track or two to appear on Classic Waxxx soon.

It’s been pretty quiet at the Beck camp for the last few years, that is, in terms of new music from the soul/punk/pop/rock genius, despite being busy serving as record producer for the likes of Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stephen Malkmus (Pavement) and Thurston Moore (formerly of Sonic Youth). But thankfully, Mr. Hansen was recently in Nashville in 2011 recording material for his soon-to-be latest LP release, and while at Jack White’s Third Man Records during his last day in town, churned out an amazing impromptu session, which has now made it to vinyl.
